Devi Teacher

Dr. Shalini Bahl

Shalini Bahl is a Devi Circle teacher at the Path of Joy.

Shalini is energized and inspired by the opportunity to empower women in India and around the world to find their voice and lead with wisdom and creative joy in their families, communities, and organizations.

Shalini grew up with an affinity for learning, knowledge, and music. While she wasn't formally taught about Hindu deities, Shalini developed an intimate soul connection with Goddess Saraswati from early childhood, and often meditated on her in times of difficulty. Her faith in this divine relationship grew as she began chanting the Gayatri mantra 108 times daily, during a very challenging period of her life in the late 1990s. In 2003, she experienced a self-awakening after which she realized that she (and all of us) have access to guidance from Goddess Saraswati. We  just have to ask with a sincere heart and then listen within.

The different mindfulness processes Shalini leads are a culmination of her research and meditation practices for almost two decades. While professionally she is trained as an academic researcher with a doctorate in marketing from UMass, Amherst, and a mindfulness teacher from the Center for Mindfulness, UMass in Worcester and the Search Inside Yourself Leadership Institute (which originated at Google), her spiritual path is dedicated to the teachings of Buddha and Goddess Saraswati, which she’s equally comfortable sharing in secular and spiritual settings.

A former successful entrepreneur and business professor, Shalini's cultural experiences of living and working in three countries-India, Kuwait, and the USA - allow her to engage with diverse audiences including CEOs and executives at Fortune 500 companies, and the teachers, staff and students at college campuses. As a researcher, mindfulness consultant, and Town Councilor in Amherst, Shalini is committed to bringing mindfulness to college campuses, organizations, and politics.

Shalini is a keynote and TEDx speaker, and her guided meditations and programs have had over 250,000 plays on the Insight Timer and Simple Habit app. Her forthcoming book is titled, "Return: 8 Habits to be Mindful in the Real World"
